Our Story

Beth Remick and Carolyn Nunez formed a friendship in 1997 while working at a major Fortune 500 financial services company. In 1998, after a career in investment banking and corporate finance, Beth followed her passion and joined Yeske Buie, a premier bi-coastal financial planning firm. Beth served as director of financial planning and within short order Carolyn became a client.

Carolyn continued honing her management, communications and marketing expertise at the senior management level. In 2008, she recognized her own passion for financial planning and successfully completed the educational requirements to become a professional planner.

In 2010 after many conversations, Beth and Carolyn realized a long-time dream and formed Ithaka Financial Planning, L.L.C., an independent firm offering fee-only financial planning and investment management services for women and families. Beth and Carolyn share a deep commitment to empowering women with regard to their money. They bring academic, financial and life experience to help their clients grow and protect their wealth. Their ultimate goal is to help all clients reach their full potential economically and in life.

As you set out for Ithaka
hope the voyage is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery...

Hope the voyage is a long one.
May there be many a summer morning when, with what pleasure, what joy, you come into harbors seen for the first time; may you stop at Phoenician trading stations to buy fine things...and may you visit many Egyptian cities to gather stores of knowledge from their scholars...
